Ideas for deschooling/Learning for fun!

Here is website dedicated to the international game ofGeoCaching. There is so much potential for this game. Children and parents can go on adventures using GPS to search for hidden treasures right in the city after school, or in the middle of nowhere over the weekend. After children solve the puzzles (there are spy-themed decoding puzzles, and math puzzles), they have the clues to find hidden treasures. After finding a few of these, you will want to make up your own treasure hunt, it could a theme based on something the child is interested in, and you can make up your own puzzles for other people to solve. I think I will be making some nature-themed and science themed ones in the city.
So cool!

A great way to learn about nature from experts and enthusiasts. In my area we have the Ottawa Field-Naturalists. There are plenty of outings on a weekly basis with great leaders and naturalists who have so much to teach. They even have a group for children to explore nature with peers and the guidance of experienced and knowledgeable adults.
